The marriage enrichment ministry exists to strengthen marriages and individual relationships in Christ through the Word of God and through community, in order to better impact our families.

 

Vision

To create a network of couples building healthy marriages by providing marriage education and enrichment opportunities.

Purpose

There is a fierce battle being fought for marriage right now, but we can win.  We want to raise the standard.  We want to give couples help and hope to secceed in marriage.  God wants families to enjoy the emotional security and fulfillment that strong marriages bring.  That's why He has called Gracepointe Nazarene Marriage Enrichment Ministry to strengthen and restore family and marriage relationships through the Word of God, prayers, pastoral support, friends and group encouagement.  Your gathering and participation with other couples is foundational to the health of your marriage but it is also a real opportunity to impact some other people's life and bless other couples as well.  Take this opportunity to get involved today!

 

A Prayer for Marriages

Dear Heavenly Father,

I humbly come before You and thank You for saving us from distress when we call out in trouble and thank you for being there for us in every moment of our lives.  We love You dear God, we seek and require You earnestly.  Thank you Lord, for Your kindness, tolerance, and patience with us even when we fail.  Thank you for sending Christ to die for our sins and redeeming us by the cross.

 I come before you Lord to petition in Prayer and ask Your blessing on me and my spouse to come together in harmony with sympathy, compassion and humility, faithfulness, honesty, respect and most of all love.  Lord, You have made us one in flesh and spirit and You are a witness to our marriage covenant.  I believe that the Holy Spirit will come upon me and my spouse so that we will never forget Your teachings as we keep Your commands in our hearts.  I believe the Holy Spirit is working in our lives right now, and will guide us to be the spouses that You want us to be.

You have promised that You will build a home for us and that it pleases You to bless our marriage.  I praise and thank you for keeping the promise You have made concerning me, my spouse and our home.  I believe You will guard the fideliity of our marriage in this time, and I pray that You would bind the work of Satan from this marriage and cast any negative influence away. 

I believe that we both will acknowledge You and listen to Your still soft voice in our heads and hearts.  I believe You will be here to assist us in staying strong and couragous throughout all the trials, struggles and issues.  Your power is greater than the power of the enemy and all who do his work, and I refuse to be discouraged, I refuse to be defeated.  You are the God of all hope and I claim in every way the victory in my marriage through Your word. I praise You that everthing we have been through has not quenched our love for each other.  I pray we will live together in harmony with sympathy, compassion and humility, and that we inherit Your blessings.  I plead that we will speak the truth to one another in love.  Cause us to honestly share our feelings without being arrogant or spiteful.  Replace those feelings, with love and honesty and enable us to work through our differences.

I plead that we will put away all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and slander, along with every form of malice.  In the place of this I pray that we would be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other.  I pray that you would rekindle passion and desire between myself and my spouse and heal any emothional woulds we may have caused one another.

It is Your will that marriages be for a lifetime and therfore have joined us together.  Let no man or woman seperate us.  As I/we pray this prayer out loud I believe You will move to save and strengthen our marriage and every marriage around us.  I ask in the name of Jesus that You will give us the strength and wisdom to do whatever it takes to protect and defend this marriage and I believe that You will place a hedge of protection over our home.  In the Mighty Holy Name of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit -  Amen.
